The Glenn L. Martin Aviation Museum, located in Middle River, Maryland,
will uniquely connect visitors with the rich Maryland Aviation story and
legacy. Chermayeff, Sollogub &
Poole have been asked to provide design services for the conceptual master
plan, building plan, phasing and exhibits.
The Museum will contain exhibits that include the Martin Company, the
Martin Company aircraft, Maryland aviation and space history, sea aircraft
and flight simulators. Plans will
include a main exhibit hall, interpretive galleries, collection and
restoration areas, library and archive areas, auditorium, multipurpose areas,
lobby, museum shop and visitor services.
When completed, the museum will house 16 historic aircraft, hundreds
of thousands of negatives and photos, film reels, manufacturing drawings,
